The Berkeley Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Program offers a robust learning journey for executives who want to lead their organization in a progressive world and leverage technology trends such as artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) for developing innovative strategies. This distinctive program combines cutting-edge theoretical frameworks with real-world case studies, complemented by insightful interactions with industry experts and a global peer group of like-minded executives. You will emerge from the program with the skills to effectively align technology management with your organizational goals.
Upon completing the program, you will receive a Certificate of Excellence in Technology Strategy and earn select Berkeley Haas alumni benefits.
Curriculum
The Berkeley CTO Program delivers learning that will take your technology career to the next level. You will learn through lectures by faculty experts and specialists, case studies, group and individual exercises, and discussions with global leaders. The curriculum includes three core modules, each of which features up to two guest speaker sessions from industry experts. Additionally, you will engage in two short courses on Emerging Tech Strategies: Harnessing AI, IoT, Web3, and Beyond and Business Analytics for Leaders. The program culminates with a capstone strategy project in which you will develop a road map for your organization’s technology strategy as part of a team.
Global Leadership Campus Immersion
The Global Leadership Campus Immersion transforms the UC Berkeley campus into a vibrant hub of connection and learning, where participants forge substantial networks with global thought leaders and peers across diverse backgrounds and industries. Through this immersive in-person experience, attendees engage in rich dialogues, exchanging pivotal insights and knowledge essential for navigating and leading in today's dynamic industry landscapes.

Capstone Strategy Project
Across the CTO Program experience, participants will complete a capstone strategy project. The project asks participants to take the next steps in their organization’s technology strategy. Group coaching sessions will be led by an industry expert serving in a learning facilitator role and include high-touch discussions.
